Welcome to the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Project Site for DARS and Transferology
DARS - Degree Audit Reporting System - is a self-directed, automated electronic tool for tracking a student's progress toward completing an academic program (degree, diploma or certificate). DARS includes a degree audit system and an automated transfer evaluation system that produces screen, print, and web degree audits and transfer evaluation reports. DARS was developed by Jack Southard of Miami University (Ohio), now a CollegeSource, Inc. sofware product called u.achieve®, and is currently implemented at all Minnesota State Colleges and Universities institutions. The University of Minnesota also uses DARS.
DARS is licensed and used by institutions large and small around the US and in Canada. In the area of degree audit reporting, DARS has led the way in providing effective service to institutions and to the individual student.
Transferology™ is licensed and sponsored by Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and is also a CollegeSource, Inc. product. Membership in the Transferology network offers a nation-wide venue for publicizing transfer articulation information and a presence for recruiting students. Transferology assists advisors, students, and parents in making educated decisions when transferring credit. Students can enter coursework and instantly see how credits transfer to member institutions. New features include: improved navigation for students, clearer transfer course equivalency information, as well as the ability to import MnSCU coursework, request transfer advising assistance, and get information from colleges and universities. In the Transferology Lab, advisors can create common transfer scenarios, view equivalencies, and advise and recruit students..
